If you’re a gigantic-milkshake-with-an-absurd-amount-of-toppings type of person (and really, who isn’t?), read on, friend, read on. You know how Girl Scout cookies are so much better when they’re frozen? Well after reaching blindly for my frozen thin mints, my hand ran into a pint of chocolate mint ice cream and Girl Scout Cookie Freakshakes were born. Get ready for heaven through a straw.
The key to these freakshakes is the ice cream. Spring for the good stuff. If you’re in the Rochester area, Flapdoodles is the spot. For these three shakes, I grabbed a pint of each PB Chocolate, Chocolate Mint, and Salty Caramel. The good, extra creamy ice cream makes a world of difference. Without further adieu:
‘PB&M for Milkshake’ Girl Scout Cookie Freakshakes
- 2 Scoops of Flapdoodles’ Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream (you could just use chocolate ice cream and scoops of creamy peanut butter)
- 1 Additional Spoonful of Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1/2 Cup Milk (or start with a 1/4 cup and work towards your preference)
- 2-3 Peanut Butter Sandwich Girl Scout Cookies
- For the Garnishes: Spread chocolate frosting around the outside of the rim and use it as glue for crushed peanuts and whole cookies, top with whipped cream and a cherry.
‘I Want Samoa’ Girl Scout Cookie Freakshakes
- 2 Scoops Salty Caramel Ice Cream (or vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, some healthy dashes of flake salt)
- 1/2 Cup Milk (or start with a 1/4 cup and work towards your preference)
- 2-3 Samoa Girl Scout Cookies
- For the Garnishes: Before putting anything in the glass, swirl caramel sauce around to get that caramel swirl look, rim glass with caramel sauce and use as glue for toasted coconut. Pour in shake and top with whipped cream, a cherry, and Samoa cookies.
Thinnest of Mints Girl Scout Freakshakes
- 2 Scoops Chocolate Mint Ice Cream (or the mint chocolate chip ice cream with extra chocolate chips)
- 1/2 Cup Milk (or start with a 1/4 cup and work towards your preference)
- 5-6 Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies
- For the Garnishes: Before putting anything in the glass, use chocolate frosting (from the can) as glue around the rim of the glass and roll in mini chocolate chips and broken Thin Mint cookies. Pour in shake and top with whipped cream, a cherry, and mini chocolate chips.
Oh, and big surprise, they’re kid-approved. WEIRD!
