In Da Kitchen | Fudge Hot Chocolate with Mallow Whipped Cream

I created this recipe at the end of hot chocolate season last year and have seriously been anxiously awaiting to share during a more appropriate weather situation. With temperatures in the who-knew-my-face-could-get-chapped-range, this is the perfect time to unveil this hot fudgy drink.

It has all of the qualities that make hot chocolate so delicious, but with a complimentary fudgy flavor. It increases the richness of the drink, without making it too sweet or thick. The light, airy marshmallow whipped cream adds a hint of relief from the chocolate overload and rounds out the sweet. It reminds me of drinking a brownie or hot fudge sundae.

Last night after Willy went to bed, I made a quick batch and started reading a recent thrift shop grab, The Last American Man by Elizabeth Gilbert. It was glorious.

Ingredients
Servings: mug (12 oz)
Instructions
  1. Combine milk, hot chocolate mix, hot fudge topping, salt and vanilla in sauce pan over medium heat
  2. While chocolate mixture is cooking, combine marshmallow creme and cool whip in bowl and mix well.
  3. As chocolate mixture heats, stir frequently until chocolate has disolved and mixture is bubbling and warm.
  4. Pour in mug and top with marshmallow whipped cream topping.
